Environmental Management System

Indofood implements environmental management systems based on ISO 14001 international standard, with a particular focus on:

  • The identification and assessment of environmental risks in relation to the Company's operational activities;
  • Demonstration of management’s role in system implementation, including its integration into business processes, providing the required resources, and ensuring that the system achieves its intended outcome;
  • Development of objectives, targets, and programs for environmental risk mitigation;
  • Operational control which is carried out through the creation of procedures, implementation of environmental programs, education and regular outreach to employees;
  • Regular environmental monitoring, measurement, and performance record keeping;
  • Regular review by management and continuous efforts towards system improvement.

 

Our Agribusiness Group also uses certification as part of the management of sustainable palm oil practices. Developed by the Indonesian Government, Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certification is mandatory and aims to improve the sustainability practices in palm oil plantations, to contribute to the Indonesian Government’s commitments to reduce GHG emissions, and to increase the competitiveness of Indonesian palm oil in global markets. The ISPO audit is conducted by a Government approved certification body.
