Our approach to managing energy depends on energy efficiency programs and switching to cleaner alternative energy sources.
Indofood has adopted the ISO 50001 standard to help implement an energy management system and guide energy efficiency. We are building capacity amongst our operating units to apply the standard, we are improving data collection and developing energy consumption baselines following ISO 50006 guidelines. Energy managers in each unit monitor energy performance, while internally-certified energy auditors conduct audits, identify energy savings, and drive their implementation. These initiatives range from boiler optimization, steam generation and distribution, and electrical system optimization in various electrical motors and compressed air systems. We apply ISO 50015 guidelines in measuring and evaluating implemented actions and related key performance indicators to ensure greater reliability of energy performance.
Our efforts in energy management are also recognized internationally and by the Indonesian Government.
