Strengthening Economic Value

Indofood takes pride in supporting local entrepreneurship as this facilitates economic empowerment and ultimately improves the welfare of our stakeholders.

The Bogasari Baking Center
Our Bogasari Group has been involved in various activities to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as part of its commitment to helping our communities become self-sufficient and economically resilient. The Bogasari Baking Center (BBC) was established as a program for the community to develop culinary expertise relating to flour-based foods and serves as a platform for members of our community to take a first step in their entrepreneurial journey.

The BBC conducted its first public training in 1981. BBC has established in 14 cities, from Sumatra and Java to Kalimantan and has alumni totaling over 100,000 people. This program drives BBC alumni to start their own businesses and successfully become entrepreneurs.

The Santripreneur Program
The Santripreneur Program is an entrepreneurship training program for Pondok Pesantrens or Islamic boarding schools. The program aims to support students in the Pesantrens to become future culinary entrepreneurs by providing training, equipment, and business assistance. Since its launch in 2008, the program has reached more than 39,000 people in 35 Pondok Pesantren across the country. Activities in this program include basic bread and noodle making training which covers theory, practice, business analysis and marketing. Through the Bogasari Baking Center, bakeries in the Pondok Pesantren are also provided with technical and equipment assistance, business management, and digital marketing. The Bogasari team also provides for its diverse member-base through various forms of training catered based on needs and preferences, delivered through several communication channels. Bogasari has facilitated the establishment of various bakery businesses within the Pondok Pesantren through the Santripreneur program. This has provided new business opportunities, jobs, and sources of income for the Pondok Pesantren and their students.

Partnership with Food Entrepreneurs through Pojok Selera
Residents living around our operating units are encouraged to participate in our capacity-building program to become food entrepreneurs as part of our Pojok Selera program, which is in collaboration with the BBC. Through this program, Indofood provides baking equipment, training and coaching on various aspects of flour-based food preparation, food business management (such as improving marketing techniques), developing an online sales channel through marketplaces, technical assistance for Halal certification, and instruction on obtaining the official number from authorized bodies.

We continued to expand our partnerships to encourage development of local entrepreneurship and supplemented the program by collaborating with an e-commerce platform, which is now providing e-commerce training to MSMEs involved in the Pojok Selera program.
