Regarding the announcement by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) concerning the recall of Indomie Instant Noodles originating from Indonesia due to the absence of allergen information, PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk (“ICBP” or the “Company”) as a subsidiary of PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk wishes to provide the following clarification:
 

1. All instant noodles produced by the Company in Indonesia are processed in compliance with the food safety standards set by the Indonesian National Agency for Drug and Food Control (“BPOM RI”) and the Codex Standard for Instant Noodles. The Company’s instant noodles have received Indonesian National Standard certification (SNI), and are produced in certified production facilities based on International Standards ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000 for Food Safety Management Systems.
    
2. The Company continuously ensures that officially exported products comply with the applicable food safety regulations and guidelines of the destination country where the products are marketed, including Australia.
    
3. Based on The Company’s assessment, the instant noodles products reported by FSANZ are as follows:
   
   
   • Instant noodle products intended exclusively for sale and distribution in the Indonesian market have obtained a Distribution Permit Number (NIE) by BPOM RI and declared allergen disclaimer in the list of ingredients in bold text, in accordance with BPOM RI Regulation No.31 Year 2018 regarding Processed Food Labels; and
      
   • are not officially exported products from ICBP to Australia, but parallel import products brought in by unauthorized importers who are not official distributors of the Company. This is further indicated by the product packaging, labeled in Indonesian.
      

On the packaging of the instant noodles products exported to Australia by the Company are stated as “Export Product” and all information written in English are printed directly on the products packaging, including the declaration of allergens as required by the Australian authorities.

4. To date, all of the Company’s instant noodle products that are officially exported to Australia remain permitted to be marketed and distributed normally by official distributors authorized by the Company, without any recall or product detention from authorities in Australia.
